The Pointe Academy Dance Center offers numerous classes both for the serious and recreational dancer alike.

PRE-DANCE/ CREATIVE MOVEMENT:
Ages 2 1/2 to 5
This class challenges young dancers to explore movement, and creativity through rhythmic games and loco-motor activities. Children are introduced to structured dance classes without the rigors of technical training. These children are introduced to all styles of dance, ballet, tap and jazz. Students in this class will have a Formal Pre-Dance Demonstration at the end of the year.
Fundamental, formal training in the technique of classical ballet. These classes are taught in a structured, progressive, positive environment. Training is provided and designed for the beginning dancer up to the intermediate level.
These classes utilize progressive training in exciting rhythms of jazz dance. We integrate strong technique into each class. Level III jazz requires dancers to take ballet as well. Level I & II dancers may take a stand a lone jazz class.
REPERTORY COMPANY ADVANCED BALLET
Progressive training in the art and technique of classical ballet, which is the foundation of all dance forms. Cecchetti and Russian styles are among the techniques taught at PADC. Classes are designed for the intermediate up to the pre-professional dancers. Repertory dances are required to take 3 Ballet Classes a week.
This class teaches the female classical ballet medium which presents the dancer as ethereal (as if they are dancing on air). Pointe is incorporated with Repertory Ballet and dancers will not be placed into this class until they are 12 or 13 years of age.
REPERTORY COMPANY ADVANCED JAZZ
These jazz classes provide progressive training in the exciting rhythms and movements of jazz dance, the origins of which can be traced back to early American and African movement and brought forward in each era as the "popular" dance of the day. Styles in these classes include theatrical, funk, lyrical and hip-hop. Classes are designed for the older beginner to the pre-professional advanced student
REPERTORY COMPANY ADVANCED TAP
Progressive tap technique to the advanced level. Students will learn progressive rhythms, syncopation and hoofing combined with the latest styles and techniques.
A wide range of jazz styles that has evolved as the art of hip-hop. Most notably, breaking, locking, popping, free style and funk. This class is for technically trained dancers and carries a ballet & jazz requirement.
Fusion of jazz and ballet techniques. Contemporary dance is a genre of concrete dance and improvisation rather than just choreography. Lyrical and contemporary describe a range of techniques and styles that allow one to express their feeling and emotions through dance while learning beautiful choreographed works of art.
These classes provide progressive training in a form of dance that originated in the 20th century as a rebellion against codified, strict positions and movement of classical ballet. Modern dance is creative, expressive approach to movement that brings dance down to a more human level and combines elements of jazz, ballet and ethnic forms. These classes carry a ballet requirement.
The Pointe Academy Dance Center offers the opportunity for fathers to learn a choreographed dance with their daughters to be performed in our annual student concert. Fathers gain a unique insight on the rigors of dance training while learning and participating in something their daughters love to do! It is a lot of fun, a great opportunity to bond with ones daughter and is always a highlight in the student concert.
